A dinner circle for men and male-identifying people in Rhode Island. Meet over good food, explore a different topic together, and build friendships beyond small talk.
FIND YOUR SEATWHY WE GATHER
Work, relationships, and everyday responsibilities can leave little room for friendship. Many of us want people we can laugh with, lean on, and talk to honestly—we just need a place to start.
We Good makes that space around a dinner table. With a shared meal and a guided conversation, we get to know one another, listen without trying to fix everything, and build a community we can keep coming back to.
HOW IT WORKS
Start with the interest form. We’ll share gathering details by email so you can RSVP for a dinner at a Rhode Island restaurant.
Order dinner and settle in. There’s no participation fee; you pay for your own food and drinks. Donations toward planning costs are welcome, never required.
Your host guides a conversation on friendship, relationships, purpose, or everyday life. We keep politics off the table. Share what feels comfortable, or simply listen.
Each gathering brings a new topic and a different restaurant. Watch your email for upcoming dates—friendship grows when we make time for it.
TABLE GUIDELINES
We Good creates space for men to talk about the issues affecting them, build community, and explore healthier ways to handle life’s challenges—with curiosity, respect, and accountability.
WHY CONNECTION MATTERS
The need for connection is real. Research helps explain why making room for friendship matters.
WHO’s 2025 report estimates that 15.8% of people worldwide experience loneliness. It affects people across ages and regions, with similar rates for males and females.
WHO · 2025In a U.S. survey, 38% of men said they would be very or extremely likely to turn to a friend for emotional support, compared with 54% of women.
Pew Research Center · 2025A UK survey study found that people who ate socially more often reported greater life satisfaction and more friends they could rely on. This is an association, not proof that a shared meal causes those benefits.
Dunbar · Breaking Bread · 2017These findings describe broader populations, not measured outcomes of We Good. Our part is simple: create regular opportunities to share a meal, listen, and build friendships.

When my 11-year relationship ended in 2023, I moved into an apartment with a bean bag chair and a television—and realized I had no male friends. At 35, I was learning how to be single and build a life without a community around me. Those first few months were lonely, and I often wondered why I (a very social person) didn't have male friends as I did in my early 20s.

I kept thinking about the men I had taught in a medium-security prison. Some described leaving prison and losing the friendships and sense of belonging they had found there. Our circumstances were different, but their words stayed with me: everyone needs somewhere to belong.
I wanted to create a regular place where men could move beyond small talk, learn from one another, and share what we were carrying. In person. Over dinner. Without judgment.
I created We Good to make those conversations possible—and to give connection a place on the calendar.
